कार्तिक मास: ब्रह्म पुष्कर की धार्मिक महिमा और महत्व :

कार्तिक मास का महत्व अत्यधिक विशिष्ट है, जैसा कि पद्मपुराण में बताया गया है। स्वयं ब्रह्माजी कहते हैं, न

कार्तिकसमो मासो न कृतेन समं युगं, न वेदं सदृशं शास्त्रं न तीर्थं गंगया समं।; अर्थात् कार्तिक मास के समान कोई दूसरा मास नहीं, न सतयुग के समान कोई युग, न वेद के समान कोई शास्त्र और न गंगा के समान कोई तीर्थ। इस महीने में तैंतीस कोटि देवता मनुष्य के निकट आते हैं और इस दौरान किए गए स्नान, दान, भोजन, व्रत आदि का विशेष महत्व है।

इसी माह में भगवान कुमार कार्तिकेय ने तारकासुर का वध किया था, इसलिए इस महीने का नाम ;कार्तिक; पड़ा। स्कंदपुराण में कहा गया है कि माघ में प्रयाग, कार्तिक में पुष्कर और वैशाख में अवन्तीपुरी (उज्जैन) से उपार्जित पापों का नाश होता है। कार्तिक मास में भगवान विष्णु का पूजन, पवित्रता, और तीर्थ स्नान का महत्व है। यह मास धर्म, अर्थ, काम, और मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाला माना गया है। स्कंदपुराण के वैष्णवखंड में उल्लेख है कि कार्तिक मास सभी मासों में श्रेष्ठ है, भगवान विष्णु सभी देवताओं में सर्वोत्तम हैं, और नारायण तीर्थ बद्रिकाश्रम सभी तीर्थों में श्रेष्ठ है। यह भी कहा गया है कि कार्तिक के समान दूसरा कोई मास नहीं, गंगाजी के समान कोई तीर्थ नहीं, और वेद के समान कोई शास्त्र नहीं है।

महाभारत के अनुशासन पर्व में कहा गया है कि जो व्यक्ति कार्तिक मास में एक बार भोजन करता है, वह शूरवीर, अनेक भार्याओं वाला, और कीर्तिमान होता है।

पद्मपुराण के अनुसार, इस महीने के पांच प्रमुख नियम हैं: रात्रि में जागरण, प्रातःकाल स्नान, तुलसी की सेवा,

उद्यापन, और दीपदान। इनका पालन करने से व्यक्ति को इस व्रत का पूर्ण फल प्राप्त होता है।

कार्तिक का विशेष महत्व :

पद्मपुराण के अनुसार :

जो व्यक्ति पूरे कार्तिक मास में सूर्योदय से पूर्व उठकर स्नान करता है और भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करता है, उस पर भगवान की कृपा होती है।

नियमित रूप से सूर्योदय से पूर्व स्नान करके धूप-दीप सहित भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करने वाले भगवान विष्णु के प्रिय बनते हैं।

कार्तिक मास का धार्मिक महत्व विशेष है। इसके द्वारा सभी देवताओं का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है। इस महीने में भगवान विष्णु योग निद्रा से जागते हैं, और भक्तों को कृपा एवं धन देते हैं। जो लोग इस महीने व्रत एवं तप करते हैं, उन्हें मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है। कार्तिक मास में दीपदान का विशेष महत्व है। इस दौरान, भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के लिए दीप जलाना आवश्यक है। महिलाएं विष्णु जी को जागृत करने के लिए दीपदान करती हैं। इस माह में दीपदान करने से जीवन में अंधकार दूर होता है और व्यक्ति के भाग्य में वृद्धि होती है। दीप जलाने से अश्वमेघ यज्ञ के समान फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

इसके अलावा, इस मास में स्नान करने से तीर्थ यात्रा का पुण्य फल प्राप्त होता है। स्कंदपुराण और नारद पुराण में कार्तिक मास की महत्ता का विस्तृत वर्णन मिलता है। कार्तिक माह में श्री ब्रह्म पुष्कर सरोवर में स्नान का फल, एक हजार बार गंगा स्नान के समान होता है।

इस प्रकार, कार्तिक मास में भक्तों को विशेष रूप से पुण्य, कृपा, और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है, जिससे यह मास अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण और पवित्र माना गया है।

Importance and Religious Significance of Kartik Month: Brahma Pushkar :

The significance of Kartik month is highly esteemed, as mentioned in the Padma Purana. Brahma himself states,;न कार्तिकसमो मासो न कृतेन समं युगं, न वेदं सदृशं शास्त्रं न तीर्थं गंगया समं।; This means, ;There is no month like Kartik, no age like Satya Yuga, no scripture like the Vedas, and no pilgrimage like the Ganges.; During this month, the thirty-three crore deities come close to humans, and the rituals of bathing, donating, feasting, and fasting hold special importance.

It is said that Lord Kartikeya defeated the demon Tarakasura during this month, which is why it is named ;Kartik.

According to the Skanda Purana, sins accumulated are washed away through pilgrimage in Magh, Pushkar in Kartik, and Avantipur (Ujjain) in Vaishakh. Worship of Lord Vishnu, purity, and sacred bathing are considered significant during Kartik month. This month is believed to provide Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. The Skanda Purana's Vaishnav section states that Kartik month is the best of all months, Lord Vishnu is the best of all deities, and the Narayan Tirtha at Badrikashram is the best of all sacred places. It is also stated that there is no other month like Kartik, no sacred place like the Ganges, and no scripture like the Vedas.

The Mahabharata's Anushasan Parva mentions that whoever eats once in Kartik month becomes brave, has multiple wives, and gains fame.

According to the Padma Purana, five essential practices during this month are: staying awake at night, bathing in the morning, serving Tulsi, performing Udyapan, and lighting lamps. Following these rules enables a person to receive the full benefits of this vow.

Special Importance of Kartik Month :

According to the Padma Purana:

• Those who wake up before sunrise, bathe, and worship Lord Vishnu throughout Kartik month receive Gods grace.

• Regularly bathing before sunrise and worshiping Lord Vishnu with incense and lamps makes one beloved by Him.

  
  

The religious significance of Kartik month is profound, as it garners the blessings of all deities. During this month, Lord Vishnu awakens from his Yogic slumber, bestowing grace and wealth upon his devotees. Those who observe vows and penance during this month achieve Moksha.

The lighting of lamps (Deepdaan) holds special importance during Kartik. It is essential to light lamps in worship of Lord Vishnu during this time. Women light lamps to awaken Vishnu, dispelling darkness and enhancing fortune. Lighting lamps grants the benefits equivalent to performing the Ashwamedha Yajna.

Additionally, bathing during this month grants the merit of a pilgrimage. The Skanda Purana and Narada Purana elaborate on the significance of Kartik month. Bathing in the sacred Brahma Pushkar Lake during Kartik is said to yield the same benefits as bathing in the Ganges a thousand times.

Thus, Kartik month provides devotees with special blessings, grace, and the attainment of Moksha, making it an exceptionally important and sacred period.
